Get Involved!

BrickFest conventions are only a part of a growing, vibrant community: the fans of LEGO. Many conference attendees use this opportunity to show off their creations, gather feedback, exchange ideas, and generally have a good time with like-minded people. However, the community doesn't start or stop when BrickFest isn't happening.

  1. Show off your MOC(s) (My Own Creation) for all to see! Please fill a MOC Display Card for each! While you're at it, see what other people are bringing!
  2. Deliver a Presentation on your favorite theme or new & cool building techniques.
  3. Become a BrickFest Volunteer - we can use your help!!!
  4. Buy, sell, and trade at the Brick Bazaar. Sign up today, and be sure to bring some extra cash for the pieces and sets you always wanted!
  5. Get involved in the online community at LUGNET, FBTB.net, BZPower.com, LEGOFan.org, and LEGO.com discussion forums!
  6. Get involved in Community Events! There are lots of great activities you can be involved with at BrickFest:
    • The Dirty Brickster! Yes, bring a cool Lego item (valued around $10) for one or both of the two Dirty Brickster events this year!
    • Mosiac Build There are panels to be built before BrickFest and at BrickFest - sign up to build one. The final picture is still a secret, but it is by a famous painter whose name rhymes with "pan dough"!
  7. Get involved in Community Projects! Lots of displays cannot happen without your help:
    • Great Ball Contraption Plan to bring your module for this years display!
    • Classic Space Fly In This year in Portland we will be bringing every single stock Lego space set together in one gigantic display. You can participate by signing up to bring some of your sets!
    • Suburban House Build a suburban house that will fit right into the neighborhood - McMansion or Bungalow - your choice!
  8. Get involved in Contests! Competing head-to-head is a great way to improve your building skill and have a ton of fun:
    • Mindstorms Robotic Easter Egg Hunt Get working on your mindstorms creation so it will be ready to pick up after the Easter Bunny this year!
    • NTX Only Sumo Competition If getting a robot to pick up eggs is too intimidating, try the Sumo Competion instead!
    • Wacky Race Time to build a racer that will get its vehicle and especially its driver the farthest from the ramp starting point!
    • The BrickMaster Build Off Build your interpretation of your favorite classic Lego set and will a $100 Lego set from LEGO!
    • Creative Badge Contest Make the flashiest coolest badge to impress all the other builders!
  9. Get involved in the online community at LUGNET, FBTB.net, BZPower.com, LEGOFan.org, and LEGO.com discussion forums!
